The EYAC Age Groupers swam in 2 different meets this month, the June Albany Open and the Mike Morris Meet. We swam in 4 relays at the June Albany Open and placed in the top 9 in all 4 relays. At the Mike Morris Meet we swam in 17 relays. One of the best relays of the meet was the 12 & Under Girls A relay (Serrie Davis, Ganell Snocker, Madeline Metcalf, and Lily Wong), they took 7th place in the event with a time of 3:18.80. Here are some of the more outstanding swims of the month
Rebekah Cone swam in both meets and took time off if 6 of 7 events, her fastest race of the month was her 50 free at the Albany meet where she took 2 seconds of her old time.
Serrie Davis had a best time in every race she swam at the Albany meet . She also had a really fast 50 breast at the Mike Morris Meet with a time of 48.91.
Alejandra Diaz swam in her first meet at the Mike Morris Meet. She swam 2 events, the 50 free and the 50 breast and did great in both races.
Natalie Doe swam in the Mike Morris Meet and took 4 seconds off in her 50 breast and another 4 off in her 100 free.
Elea Hewitt took 16 seconds off in her 50 breast at the Mike Morris Meet, and got a best time in the 50 back at the Albany Meet.
Rachel Larsen swam in both meets and took 25 seconds off throughout both weekends, one of her fastest races was the 100 free at the Mike Morris Meet where she got a time of 1:32.16
Jonathan Larson had a great 50 free at the Mike Morris Meet; he took over 6 seconds off his time.
Jenna Laver did great in all 6 of her races at the Mike Morris Meet, her fastest race was the 50 free with a time of 41.40
Madeline Metcalfe took over 10 seconds off throughout both the Mike Morris Meet and the Albany Meet.
Katie Seaver had a great 100 breast at the Albany meet, taking over 3 seconds off her time, she also had a best time in the 50 breast at the Mike Morris Meet.
Mark Shum swam 3 races in the Mike Morris Meet and a great 50 free.
Ganell Snocker swam very fast in both the Albany Meet and the Mike Morris meet, one of her best races was her 200 IM in the Mike Morris Meet where she got a best time.
Noah Sorseth had a great 50 back in the Mike Morris Meet, taking over 28 seconds off his old time.
Catrina Steckler swam in her first meet with EYAC at the Mike Morris Meet, she had best times in all her events and got a B time in her 50 back.
Ana Wong had a best time in her 50 free at the Mike Morris Meet dropping almost 4 seconds off her old time.
Lily Wong had best times in 4 of her races at the Mike Morris Meet dropping over 8 seconds throughout the meet.
Elisha Yang had a great 50 back at the Mike Morris Meet, he took over 8 seconds off his old time.
I would like to say Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, to all the parents that timed this month, and everybody that helped out with the Aquathon, you guys are such a big help. We had 3 kids move up this month Kevin Chang, Alejandra Diez, and Jenna Laver all moved up to Age Group 1, Congratulations to all of you, we are very proud of you. Just a couple quick reminders: Please get your Aquathon pledge sheets in to a Coach ASAP. We would like to hand out prizes but we can’t until they all get turned in. Also don’t forget to turn in your Roseburg entries by July 10th. We have 7 swimmers that qualified for 10 and Under State Championships this season (Madeline Metcalf, Tommy Ghasedi, Elisha Yang, Katie Seaver, Lily Wong, Ganell Snaocker, and Rachel Larsen) so please wish them luck if you see them.
