Does my child need to be potty trained to attend the YMCA preschools?
Nope. When you and your child are ready to become potty trained, we will begin
the process with you.
Are swim lessons a part of the YMCA child care programs?
Children in the preschool programs will have swim lessons twice a week and free
swim once a week. Children in the kindergarten programs will swim at least once
a week.
Are meals a part of the programs?
Breakfast, snacks and lunch are a part of the preschool programs. Snacks are a
part of the school-age programs
What time do you open and close?
We open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 6:00 p.m.
Is there a nap time?
There is a rest time in both preschool rooms from 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
What happens when it snows?
When the Eugene 4J school district is closed, we are closed. If Eugene 4J opens
on a 2 hour delay, our programs will most likely open at 10:00 a.m.
When can I sign up for YMCA child care?
Fall Registration begins on May 1st. Enrollment is open unless a program is full
and then we have a waiting list.
How many kids are in the program?
The preschool programs have 20 kids. School-age programs have 25 - 40 kids.
When do I need to make my payment?
Payments are due by the 10th of the month.
What days are the YMCA child care programs closed?
Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas, New Year Day, Memorial
Day, July 4th, the Monday after winter break and the Monday after spring break.
It all depends on when 4J takes time off.
Do I need to be a YMCA member?
Registration Fee for YMCA members is $25. Registration Fee for non members is $65 which gets you member and community membership rates on swim lessons, youth sports, and other activities.
How do I sign my kid up for the program?
Fill out the registration form and a health form and pay the registration fee.
What happens when the schools are closed?
We have School's Out Safari days on most days! You can sign up your child for a
fun day at the YMCA. Registration is required.
What does my kid do while at the YMCA program?
There is a monthly calendar that has fun projects and activities. Monthly themes
are followed.
Does the YMCA credit for vacation or sick days?
No.
