About Practices
We encourage our swimmers to attend as many of the practices available to their practice group.

Senior I:   ages 14 & Up, this group is designed for most High School swimmers and swimmers wishing to compete in high level swim meets like Zones, Senior Sectionals, Junior and Senior Nationals.  This group practices a minimum of 8 times per week, and requires participation in at least 3 meets per season.

Senior II : ages 11 & Up , this group is for swimmers whishing to compete in meets like state championships and age group Sectionals.  This group practices a minimum of 5 times per week and requires participation in at least 3 meets per season.

Age Group I : ages 9-14, in this group our goal is to get swimmers prepared for championship level meets.  We are perfecting our stroke technique in all four strokes and building a strong freestyle base.  This group practices a minimum of 4 times per week and requires participation in at least 2 meets per season.

Age Group II :  ages 8-10, here our goal is to perfect our turns and work on stroke technique for all four strokes and work on learning intervals.  This group practices a minimum of 3 times per week and requires participation in at least 1 meet per season (Mini Meets don’t count.)

Age Group III:  ages 10&Uunder, in this group our goal is learning a lot of the basics of swim team swimming, like how to swim the strokes legally, and how do the appropriate starts and turns for each stroke. We also introduce the basics of how to read the clock. This group practices a minimum of 3 times per week and requires participation in at least  1 Mini Meet per season.

Age Group IV: Ages 8&Under, here we are learning the very basics of how to swim the four strokes, freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle.  We are also introducing proper turns and finishes.  This group practices a minimum of 2 times per week .

Practice Notes
We meet year around, and spilt the year into seasons based on meet schedules and age groups. Our coaches arrange dual meets, both at home and with other teams of similar size and skill level. Our goal is to have swimmers participate in as many meets as possible. Participation in USS Invitational meets are decided on by the coach.
