New Wellness Classes

Beginning in January, you'll see new wellness options on our schedules.

Body Basics, on Tuesday and Thursdays at 6:30

Whatever class you choose, a new one or an old favorite, remember our Wellness Staff is here to help. If you have questions, just ask Kari, our Wellness Director.

To enhance the security of our members and our building we have installed security cameras throughout the building, in the parking lot and in the alley. These camera's are just one way to keep our facility safer for everyone. As a  member, you are an important part of making our Y the best it can be.
If you see something, let us know.

And don’t forget to smile or at least make a goofy face. It gives us something to giggle at when we are watching the security tapes. If you have questions, please contact Dave, our Executive Director.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Moves
Big Brother Big Sister logo

For more than ten years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has had a home at your Eugene Family YMCA. During that time we have served hundreds of youth and volunteers in creating healthy and nurturing mentoring relationships. During all this time, we have grown to serve ever more families and volunteers, with no charge for mentoring services. We have worked hard to raise funds for this program. The Y, through donations and sharing of staff resources, has kept this program alive and vital and able to make ends meet. For the rest of the story, please go to our website.

Kids These Days

They just can’t stop setting goals, making quality choices and embracing integrity at every turn.

If you believe in kids, we believe we have the volunteer opportunity for you.

The First Tee is a youth program designed to teach kids, ages 7-17 valuable life skills and strong character values through the game of golf.  It focuses on how to properly meet and greet someone new, how to set personal goals both on and off the golf course, how to stay cool in challenging situations and how to have fun with others. We also introduce perseverance, sportsmanship, decision-making and judgment (among other things) and rely upon high-integrity volunteer coaches to instill these imperative life skills.

We invite you to be a part of this exciting volunteer team, making a direct and positive impact on the kids of our community.  Golf skills are not required; you must simply have the desire to learn and teach within the extraordinary environment of The First Tee.

How much time do I spend with The First Tee as a Volunteer Coach?
2hrs/week, four weeks (minimum); plus, three 90 minute training sessions to help you become comfortable with the exciting material we share with our First Tee participants.

You get, in return, the reward of giving back to our community, building strong characters and being a part of a team dedicated to our community’s youth growing into capable, responsible citizens. Plus, you get to be outside, active and engaged with the game of golf! Contact Program Director Dennis Nakata today to get involved: Call 510-4961 or e-mail Dennis. Thank You!
