We build strong kids, strong families, strong
communities.
The Eugene Family YMCA Swim Team
has been providing a competitive swimming experience to the youth of Eugene
since 1957. It has occupied a unique niche in the swimming community over the
years by offering a low pressure, high quality program that has allowed for
swimmers to rise to their own level of excellence. Excellence may mean breaking
records and going to Nationals for one swimmer, and learning how to do a flip
turn correctly for another. At the Eugene Family YMCA the process involved in
attaining success is as important as the actual achievement, if not more. We
have been blessed with many nationally ranked age group and senior swimmers
during our first 40 years. We have been equally blessed by many other swimmers
who are talented and dedicated students, enthusiastic and motivating team
members, musicians, scouts and athletes in other sports. Our Philosophy The EYAC program is offered on the belief that competitive swimming offers an exciting and worthwhile experience in a young person's life. It can be learned and enjoyed by those with basic ability as well as those who are of regional/national caliber, and it's values go far beyond that of learning proficiency in the water. Or program is planned and directed so that every participant can gain from being on the team.
