*Program  Membership is a $40 annual fee for youth under 15 years of age. This entitles youth to a discount on lessons and camps. It does not provide use of the facility.

Private Lessons

Private lessons or semi-private lessons are available from our USPTA certified Tennis Professionals as well as Instructors. Private lesson times and fees are arranged on an individual basis. Please see our teaching staff for more information.


Junior Lessons

The YMCA Jr. Tennis program is all about fun, friends, fitness and learning this lifetime sport! 

10 & Under
It’s a whole new ballgame for kids tennis! With QuickStart Tennis, the equipment and courts are tailored to suit the needs and abilities of kids.  Using the QuickStart Tennis format allows kids to rally back and forth over the net right away and enjoy the game right from the start. To enroll in a class that is above your age, coach permission is required.

QS 1, 2, 3                                             M/W 3:15-4
QS 1  For children ages 4-6.  A fun, engaging program to teach the fundamentals of tennis including; Hand-Eye Coordination, Back and Forehand Strokes, simple games , cooperative activities, basic rules, care of equipment, and sportsmanship.
We’ll use 36’ courts, foam or red balls & 17” to 21” racquets.

QS 2:  For children ages 6-8.  Children will continue to improve on the form taught in QS 1. Players will also begin to learn: basic rules of the game, to keep score, make shot decisions, basics of doubles and continue developing sportsmanship.
We’ll use 36’or 60’ courts, foam or red balls &19”to 23” racquets.

QS 3:  For children ages 8-10.  Children will continue to develop what they learned in QS 2 while spending more time learning to: play and apply the rules of individual or doubles play, practice, encourage and support others, and continued development of being a good sport.  We’ll use 60’ courts, orange or green balls & 23”to25” racquets.

Recreation Tennis
Come see if tennis is your sport. These classes are lots of fun. You learn to play tennis and hang out with friends.

Tennis Strategies 1 Beg.– Int. 10-18 yrs T/Th 3:30-4:30pm

To accommodate for school schedules, Instruction for this class actually starts at 3:45. Warm up games are played from 3:30 - 3:45.
This class is designed to be fun and interactive, all while meeting the current needs of the player. Core concepts are stressed such as correct techniques in ground strokes, volleys, serves, overheads, and specialty shots such as drop shots and lobs. Tennis strategy and athletic development is introduced and well as sportsmanship and integrity on the court.

Tennis Strategies 2 Int.-Adv. 10 -18 yrs T/Th 4:30-5:30pm
This class focuses on the fundamentals of match play, having fun and making friends. Students will learn the importance of each point and be given strategies to develop their natural skills in both singles and doubles match play. Good sportsmanship and encouragement of others is expected.

Performance Tennis
Our Performance Tennis Program is for Kids playing year around competitive tennis and are frequently playing and practicing outside of class. Participants are very committed to improving all aspects of their tennis game.

Performance Adv. only 10-18 years M/W 4:00-5:30pm

There will be intensive workouts with singles and doubles strategies and mental toughness for match play scenarios. Players must have instructor consent before registration. Good sportsmanship and encouragement of others is expected.

High Performance Adv. only 10-18 years M/W 4:00-5:30pm
This class is reserved for players on high school varsity teams
and younger players with USTA rankings and instructor consent. In a fun and enthusiastic environment we offer this highly competitive class with an emphasis on point play and tournament preparation. Time is spent on developing strengths, improving conditioning and movement, and maximizing mental toughness. Being a positive role model for younger players is very important in this class.
