At the Eugene Family YMCA Tennis Center we create a fun filled learning environment where your success and enjoyment is guaranteed. Sign up soon, as space is limited.
                                               
In a four week session, you will learn all of the basic strokes needed to play the game of tennis, as well as how to keep score and simple strategies for both singles and doubles. Move forward as your game improves and develop strategies and tactics for singles and doubles match play.

Jr Lessons
The YMCA Jr. Tennis program is all about fun, friends, fitness and learning this lifetime sport! Whether you’re attempting to hit your first forehand, playing your first match, or preparing for a tournament, we have the class for you. . Registration and payment is required before 1st day of class. If  there is space, you can register and pay on the first day of class. However, payment is due at registration.

Tiny Tots         
All levels                 4-6 yrs                            M/W 3:15-4pm
This class will combine hand-eye coordination with FUN, FUN, FUN games and activities to build a positive first      experience in tennis.  We will use lil’ nets and rackets (provided).  You are never too young to start playing Tennis.
(For students in our Pre-school program, please make sure you let us know your child needs a staff  member to take them to the class.)

Grassroots
(Beg.-Int.)                6-10 yrs                           M/W 3:15-4pm
This is a great place for many young people to learn the basics of the game while making friends and having fun. The goal of this class is to build the skills necessary to be able to rally from the short court and from full court, ten times in a row.

Future stars
(Beg.- Adv.)             10-18 yrs                           T/Th 3:30-4:30pm
This is a combination of four different levels for middle school age players.  Core concepts are stressed such as correct techniques in ground strokes, volleys, serves, overheads, and specialty shots such as drop shots and lobs.  Tennis strategy and point construction is introduced.  This class is designed to be fun and interactive.

Tournament training
(Int.-Adv.)                10 -18 yrs                          T/Th 4:30-5:30pm
This class focuses on the fundamentals of match play, having fun and making friends.  Students will learn the importance of each point and be given strategies to develop their natural skills in both singles and doubles match play.

Jr. Varsity (Formerly Tournament Champs)
Adv. only                 10-18  years                        M/W 4-5:30pm
This class is reserved for champ level tournament players.  There will be intensive workouts with complex strategies and mental toughness incorporated in match play scenarios.   Players must have instructor consent before registration.

Varsity Tennis          High School Varsity Player    M/W 4-5:30pm
This class is reserved for players on high school varsity teams
and younger players with USTA rankings and instructor consent. In a fun and enthusiastic environment we offer this highly competitive class with an emphasis on point play and tournament preparation. Class time is spent on developing strengths, improving conditioning, improving movement, and maximizing mental toughness.

J’s  Pizza and Play                                             F 4-5:30pm
Meet new people, get tips from our coaches, play tennis and eat pizza. It is a perfect Friday night for advance beginner to advance players.
$5 for members, $10 for potential members. Pizza included!

*Community Membership is a $40 annual fee for youth under 15 years of age. This entitles these youth to a discount on programs such as lessons and camps. It does not provide use of the facility

 

Private Lessons...  
Private lessons or semi-private lessons are available from our USPTA certified Tennis Professionals as well as Instructors. Private lesson times and fees are arranged on an individual basis.
