Rainbow and Friends Camp 

There will never be a dull moment at our Early Learning Camps. Your camper will have the time of their lives with art projects, trips, picnicking, music, cooking, and much more.  

• Don't worry about packing lunch, because we'll take care of the meals.  
• Early learning camps will run from 7am-6pm.  
• Campers will need to be checked-in by 8:45am and stay until at least 4pm so they can fully participate in the camp day.   
• Swim days are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. 
• Weekly walking field trips

DAY CAMPS - Explorers, Voyagers, Adventures, YQuest 
Build friendships while singing, swimming, playing outdoors, and learning about the world around us.  The exploration will begin at the Y and will depart daily by foot or bus to local sites. There's something for everyone with a variety of activities every week.  

• Camp day runs 8:45 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. 
• For an additional fee, campers can be checked in as early as 7am, and stay as late as 6pm. Please see our extended care prices and registration for more info. 

WHAT TO PACK 

• Lunch, 2 snacks, water bottle 
• Swimsuit and towel 
• Weather appropriate clothing 
• Shoes with a back strap  
• Sunscreen if camper has allergy

SPECIALTY CAMPS - Night Crawlers, Q Camp, Happy Campers, Cooking Camps, STEM Camp
This year we are proud to offer a variety of camps for youth who share specific interests and things in common. Our specialty camps are designed to provide a fun and enriching experience for your youth, while also fostering friendships and skills that will last a lifetime.  

SPECIALTY CAMPS INCLUDE: 

• Q Camp – Focused on creating connections and community for LGBTQIA+ Identifying Youth 8:45am-4pm.
• Night Crawlers – Late Night Camp for 9th and 10th Graders 6:30-10:30pm
• Happy Campers – Focused on creating community and connections for Youth with Down Syndrome 9am-12:30pm.
• Little Chefs/Cooking Academy – Focused on introducing youth to the fundamentals of cooking and nutrition 9am-12:30pm
• STEM in Motion – An entire week of STEM-centric fun! Female Identifying camp 9-noon, Afternoon camp for all campers 1-4pm

YMCA Specialty Camps Philosophy is to use camps as a tool to develop each participant physically and mentally. Emphasis is on teaching the values of good sportsmanship, teamwork, goal setting and skill development in a fun, esteem-promoting atmosphere.
Elementary age Players will work on Passing, dribbling, contests, field positions, shooting and defending. Players will also participate in fun games and drills designed to improve their skills in all these areas.   
Middle school players will work on Passing, dribbling, shooting on the move, situational game skills, movement off the ball, decision making and defensive skills/conditioning. Players will also participate in fun games and competitive games working on teamwork and their leadership skills.

Y SPORTS

Join us once a week in August on Thursday evenings 5-8pm for a Girls and Gender Diverse (LGBTQIA) youth session of Sports Leadership and Empowerment Summer Program!

This program will run for 4 weeks in August and include an Ultimate Frisbee clinic and workshops on social justice, leadership as young women ages 13-18, in sports and building a supportive network for girls and gender diverse youth. 

• 5-8pm August 8th - Clinic + Workshop (Gender and Leadership in Sports) ​
• 5-8pm August 15th- Clinic + Workshop (Building Community, Cultivating Culture) 
• 5-8pm August 232nd - Clinic + Workshop (Sustainable Food, and Cooking) 
• 5-8pm August 29th - Scrimmaging + (Priviledge, Bias, Challenging societal Norms)

This program is fREE and attendees DO NOT need to be members of the YMCA to participate. 
REGISTER
Activities will include an ultimate frisbee clinic where youth will work on onfield skills, communication, and implementing leadership skills we have been discussing. 
For the second half of our time together we will engage in workshops where we open up conversations about social justice, leadership skills as non-male players, and community building!
Workshops will include arts and crafts and a cooking session for our sustainable food workshop. 

In partnership with Emerald Valley Ultimate with support from the City of Eugene's Youth Empowerment Grant. EVU staff running workshop.  

The Eugene Family YMCA is offering a BRAND-NEW camp this summer: Pickleball Camp! It is the fasts-growing camp in America, after all! Our summer camps aim to develop each participant physically and mentally. Emphasis is on teaching the values of good sportsmanship, teamwork, goal setting and skill development in a fun, esteem-promoting atmosphere. Join us this summer!
