Group fitness class information

REGISTRATION

  • Classes are for ages 16 and older unless in a youth or family class or with instructor permission.
  • Classes with fewer than 3 participants 1 hour prior to class start time will be cancelled.
  • Pre-registration is recommended to guarantee a spot in class.
  • Members are limited to registering for 1 group fitness class per day.
  • Reservations for group fitness classes open 3 days and 1 hour prior to class start time (for example, registration for a class at 4 p.m. on a Friday will open on Tuesday at 3 p.m.) Registration for Specialty Classes and Workshops (paid offerings) opens 2 weeks before the class begins.
  • Waitlisted and drop-in members will be permitted to join a class if not all registered participants are present at the scheduled class start time.
  • Waitlisted members will be notified via email and an app push notification if a spot opens and they're added to the class rostert. If a spot opens less than 3 hours before the class is due to start, the member will receive an opt-in message via email and app notification and have 15 minutes to choose to opt in and claim the spot, before it's offered to the next person on the waitlist.
  • Pickleball reservations (other than the Beginner and Learn-to-Play classes) are made through the CourtReserve system, and open at 7 a.m., 7 days before a given class.

EXPECTATIONS

  • No-show policy: 3 no-shows (registering for a class but not showing up for it) within 14 days results in a member being restricted from signing up for another group exercise class for 7 days.
  • Please cancel any class you are unable to attend at least 3 hours prior to its start, to allow waitlisted participants enough time to fill your spot. If you cancel your reservation later than 3 hours before the class' start time, you will be removed from the class roster but marked as a no-show.
  • Please check in at the Y a few minutes before your class is scheduled to start, to ensure that your instructor knows that you are attending, and to give yourself a few minutes to safely set up your space.
  • Please do not enter a studio to set up your spot earlier than 10 minutes before the start time of your class, to ensure a smooth transition between departing and arriving classes.

Waitlist Opt-In:
If you are added to a class from the waitlist within 3 hours of start time, you must opt in within 15 minutes (via notification or email) or your spot will be released.

Please note: Community members can no longer register for Group Ex classes. However, when in on a day pass they are welcome to join a class that has open spots or pre-register for a specialty series or workshop.
