See Your Impact

"The Y gives us more than a workout—it gives us peace of mind,” says Kathy. “It’s where we can breathe, reset and feel like ourselves again.”Making real differences for real families

After Laura Holland lost her husband in 2020, her mom, Kathy Horak, moved from California to Eugene to help raise Laura’s two young children, Gage and Preslee. Together, they’ve built a new routine anchored by the Eugene Family YMCA, where three generations find care, connection and community.

“As a single mom, having the Y has been life-changing,” Laura says. “It gives my kids a safe, loving place to grow—and gives me and my mom the support we need to stay healthy, connected, and sane.”

Your impact, by the numbers

The Eugene Family YMCA is one of the region's leading nonprofits strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. At the heart of our mission is a deep commitment to equity and inclusion. We believe that everyone deserves access to the Y, regardless of financial circumstances. That’s why no one is turned away due to an inability to pay. Thanks to philanthropic support, financial assistance and discounts are offered to help cover membership dues, program fees and child care services, ensuring the Y is available to ALL.
