WORKSHOPS
Our specialty fitness and wellness workshops offer the perfect environment to delve deeper into your practice, beyond what an hour-long class can provide. These boutique experiences cater to both seasoned practitioners and newcomers, allowing everyone to explore and discover new passions. Workshops are open to both Y members and community members.
Nia 52 Moves
This immersive workshop explores the foundational elements of Nia, a sensory-based fitness practice blending dance, martial arts and healing arts. Participants will learn and embody all 52 moves, designed to enhance strength, flexibility and mindfulness while fostering joy and self-expression. Suitable for all levels, this workshop offers a dynamic way to deepen body awareness and movement efficiency.

Myofascial Release for Core and Pelvis
This class focuses on using self-myofascial release techniques to target and release tension in the muscles and fascia of the core and pelvis. Through the use of bolsters, foam rollers, massage balls, and other tools, participants will learn how to effectively release tightness and improve mobility in key areas of the body. By incorporating breathwork and movement patterns, this class aims to enhance core stability, pelvic alignment and overall functional movement. Suitable for all levels, this class offers a unique opportunity to increase body awareness, release tension, and improve muscular balance in the core and pelvis.

Pelvic Floor Health Series
In this Pelvic Floor Health Workshop Series, we will focus on pelvic health fundamentals, relaxation, and strength-building techniques to alleviate pain, gain control and enhance your overall well-being.

Yin - Meridians, Emotions and Elements
Join us as we embark on a journey with the Five Elements of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water through the practice of Qigong and Yin Yoga. We will begin with the exploration and application of the five elements as it relates to movement and breathings, the seasons, directions, colors, sounds, emotions, and organs of the body. Through practice we will allow for the renewal of energy and awareness that is The Way, Tao, and the qualities of a healthy and harmonious life.

Self Defense from the Inside Out for Teens 12-16
Self Defense From the Inside Out for Everyone teaches us to explore our many tools (physical, verbal, mental, emotional) while respecting and practicing our own boundaries, gut feeling, instinct, or intuition. This class offers a supportive environment where participants gain self-confidence while practicing new physical and verbal skills in many different life scenarios.

Smart Cycling Class
Smart Cycling equips riders with the skills and confidence to bike safely and legally on roads and trails. The course covers safety checks, traffic laws, riding techniques, on-bike skills, and crash avoidance maneuvers. Successful completion earns a League of American Bicyclists "Smart Cycling" certification. Suitable for all experience levels, this course includes a student manual for reference. This is a hybrid class including classroom time and practical cycling time. Bring your own bike if you have one! Free bike and helmet rentals also available to rent from Cascadia Mobility. This class is made possible by the Y's partnership with Cascadia Mobility.

Small Group Boxing Fundamentals
A family-friendly, non-contact introduction to the sport of boxing! This class is designed to build essential boxing skills in a safe and supportive environment. We focus on proper stance, footwork, head movement, punching techniques, defensive strategies, and practical applications through live drills. Our aim is to foster friendship and teamwork through the art of fighting, all while avoiding hard sparring.

Small Group Circuit Training
Join a small group ready to get it, get it done and get going! This is a 30-minute, no-nonsense circuit workout led by one of our certified Personal Trainers. In this workout, functional training meets full-body strength and bursts of cardio. The small size means you get more attention while still feeling motivated by working as a group. Currently only being offered for Y members.

Aerial Yoga Play
Aerial Yoga Play combines all the benefits of traditional yoga—flexibility, strength and balance with the unique conditioning for an exhilarating new way of approaching yoga. Sculpt your body in the air, using our special yoga swings, as you tone muscles, find balance and increase flexibility. All levels welcome.

Come join a small group focused on balanced strengthening from the core out. This small group experience will be able to modify for individual needs and provide all the motivation you need to get to your fitness goals.
