Thrive with the Y

Break through barriers, build healthy habits, and make your membership work for you.

Overview

THRIVE with the Y is a 6-week, small-group wellness program designed to help you connect with your health, your goals, and your YMCA community.

We know that life can get in the way of using your membership. Maybe you’re not sure where to start, feel unsure about the equipment, or haven’t found a routine that sticks. You’re not alone—and that’s exactly why THRIVE exists.

This program focuses on whole-person wellness and helps you understand why healthy habits matter—and how to build them in a way that fits your real life. In a supportive, small-group setting, you’ll learn, reflect, and practice together while gaining confidence using the Y’s spaces, equipment and resources.

What You Can Expect

Weekly in-person small-group sessions. THRIVE meets once a week for 1 hour in a welcoming, small-group environment. Each session begins in a classroom setting, where you’ll explore the different dimensions of wellness, discuss common barriers and learn practical strategies for building healthy habits.

The final 10 to 15 minutes of each session are dedicated to getting up and moving our bodies—giving you a chance to apply what you’ve learned, build confidence and become more comfortable using the equipment and facilities.

During the program, you’ll:

  • Explore the different dimensions of wellness
  • Learn how to set realistic, meaningful goals
  • Build habits that support long-term change
  • Identify and work through personal barriers
  • Become more comfortable using YMCA spaces and equipment
  • Connect with your personal “why” for wellness

Remember, you won’t be doing this alone—you’ll be part of a small learning cohort of other members who are also upgrading their wellness game. You’ll find community, encouragement, accountability, and likely a few new friends along the way.

What to wear? Comfortable athletic clothing that allows for easy movement and closed-toe athletic shoes.
